Whenever I click on a link to an AIFF or WAV audio file, I get a "Downloading"
dialog telling me the file has a mime type of audio/aiff or audio/wav. I then
have to click the OK button in order to play the sound.
I tried going into Helper Applications under Preferences and setting up Windows
Media Player as the helper app for these mime types, and I unchecked the "Ask me
before opening downloaded files of this type" box. Even so, I still get the
Downloading dialog asking me if I want to open the file with AIFFFile or soundrec.
I can't seem to open these mime types without being asked about them, and I
can't seem to choose which helper app I want to open them with.

For the x-pn-realaudio, nothing happens here. I have added it to the helper
applications and unchecked the "Ask me before opening[...]". Now, when I press
on a link to a realaudio file, nothing happens. (Realplay isn't started, but
there is also no "Save" dialog.)
Got this problem since M0.8, and it still is there with M0.9. It worked fine
with M0.7 IIRC.
Check the "Ask me" question box on the Helper application definition dialog.
When you click on a link of the defined type you are prompted and the
application is invoked, working as it should.
If you uncheck the "ask me"question box then nothing happens when you click on a
link of the defined type, showing the problem.
Reproduced on Linux with M 0.9.

This looks like it's working in the latest nightly builds. The files get opened
with the help app that I specified. When I check the "Ask me before opening..."
box, I get a dialog box that I must respond to. When I uncheck that box, I do
not need to respond to it. When I check the "Save to Disk" option, I get a Save
File dialog box. Works great!

yep, i tested the sample aiff and wav files attached [also setup audio/aiff and
audio/wav to use the windows media player, with the "Ask me before..." checkbox
turned off]. works fine using 2001.06.18.09 mozilla bits on winnt.
cc'ing jrgm to point him to a couple more sample files :)
