While browsing normally I notice this problem on certain sites. I have checked to see if this happens with Chrome, or IE, and it does not.
Actual results:
The desktop, or any window behind the Firefox window shows through Firefox.
Expected results:
the website images should appear correctly
Nice effect:)
OK, try to disable HW acceleration in tools->options->advanced->general.
Well, good to hear that, but we'll still need to find the culprit.
Could you enable HW acceleration again, restart Firefox and post contents of the Graphics section of about:support here?

OK, you seem to have uptodate drivers.
Do you know when it started?
Can you give any URLs where this happens? You said only on some sites.
I just updated to the newest video drivers the day before posting this bug in case the issue was on my side. It has been happening for a few weeks at least. Possibly a month. I believe it started when I updated Firefox to version 7. I am currently using version 8. I first noticed it on Facebook. The blue top bar would show up as translucent, and I would be able to see my desktop through it. I thought it was possibly a Facebook issue. When I first visited the guild site below I noticed the same issue, but a lot worse so I tested the same sites on IE, and Chrome with no problems at all.
It happens all the time on this site: http://synergy.swtorlaunch.net/
