One or two week ago i started notice serious performance regression when flash plugin appeared on screen. Firefox did very smooth two fingers scrolling - but now it becomes laggy when even part of flash plugin happens to be on screen. Also flash plugin started making Lion desktop transition effects choppy.
Everything works smooth with Firefox 8 or Safari or Chrome though.
Today i have proved this using GUIMark benchmark:
Firefox 8: http://tinyurl.com/77mq4q4 47.5fps and quiet smooth fps line.
Firefox 10: http://tinyurl.com/7grh6g7 24.28fps and very choppy fps line.

May this regression be caused by using fbo instead of pbuffer?
My hardware: Macbook Air 2011 (Sandy bridge graphics) with Lion 10.7.2
Ildar: Which version of flash are you running? You can get it from about:plugins.
Version: 11.0.1.152
The same for all my tests of course.
Today i decided to look again at nightly builds.
First i updated flash to 11.1.102.55 - it didn't help.
Then i updated Nightly to 11.0a1 (2011-11-18) and this helped a lot.
Problem almost gone, but it still little but slower then 8.0.
http://tinyurl.com/7v5dspj 44.59fps and not as smooth as 8.0's line. but much better
so WFM?
No. I checked today. This only got better in 11 branch.
Aurora 10.0a2 (2011-11-26) still affected: http://tinyurl.com/c79tytp 30.99fps.
(And anyway even 11 branch has 7% performance drop)
Firefox 10beta still affected by this bug. Mac users so will not love Firefox 10.
Why you don't want to backport changes from 11 branch?
Firefox 9 is good. Firefox 11 not so bad too.
Here is my Firefox10beta results: http://tinyurl.com/6quv4jk
Lastest Firefox10 beta works great now. Report may be closed.
