Two things,
how about using this bug as tracking bug, like bug 24689 is for the XUL ref?
If so, please link from the stringdoc to this bug.

I miss a section on debugging strings, gdb on sparc can't call functions, so
finding out which is the underlying datastructure, and how to dump it would
be nice. Some gdb macros (didn't debug new strings yet, but I could help there)?

As per Pike's suggestion, now that the string doc exists, turning this into a
tracking bug.  I'll link back to this bug from there.
