User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 Build ID: 20111102223350 Steps to reproduce: I disabled the ShockWave flash 11.0.1.152 in Firefox 8 beta and as normal youtube didnt play video and plugincontainer.exe isnt listed in taskmngr. However I went on site with embeded youtube video and I clicked and after few re-trys (automatic, like some white icon bouncing in corners of video) it started playing!!!!! I tried to play same video on youtube.com and as "normal" it displayed 'Plugin Disabled' then overlay youtube info (that black screen). Actual results: They ask me what happened? Why do I act funny? I stay braindead like I got bitten by a rat monkey... wtf is purpose of this field anyway... Expected results: It shouldn't have played and even if it did play(like now) plugin-container.exe should be running but its not so is there some other thread able to play multimedia content in firefox.exe?
You must have been running into "HTML5 Video". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KX2BQM0D01M&html5=True Note the "html5" in the URL. You may (?) be able to force all/some (?) youtube video's to use html5 by appending the "&html5"? http://html5video.org/
Correct, it wasnt appending html5 to "Ext" view when I clicked yotube logo so It got me but now I saw it with firebug.
