It would be helpful to have an option that opens the calendar in a new window -- sans the thunderbird icon toolbars and tabs -- just the File, Edit, View... and the calendar. Basically, the SunBird layout. Perhaps make this the default when right clicking on the calendar tab > Move to new window. Or, give another option under "Move to New Window" --> "Full Screen Calendar".
The new addon Lightbird gives a similar option for Seamonkey. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/seamonkey/addon/lightbird/
