Details
Like the title says - lots of builds failing due to issues in unix-platforms.h, particularly due to the implementation of VMPI_atomicIncAndGet32WithBarrier (e.g. __sync_add_and_fetch not found). Look for the "FIXME" in unix-platform.h that references this bug.

The "look for the FIXME" Virgil mentions in comment 0 is talking about the tr-float repository, not tamarin-redux. But this issue looks like a problem of some form in both repositories, it is just masked in tamarin-redux, as explained below.
Useful notes from Virgil:
what was wrong in fact was that the "if" checks (in tamarin-redux, not in tr-float) "ifdef (AVMSYSTEM_ARM)
that is the error: AVMSYSTEM_ARM is always defined (either to '0' or '1')
so in effect, nobody was testing the "else" clause
when I changed it to "ifdef VMCFG_ARM", all hell broke loose
