User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.2.24) Gecko/20111103 Firefox/3.6.24
Build ID: 20111103063747

Steps to reproduce:

I installed the latest version of Firefox for my system: 3.6.24. The Installer seems to have removed my Java plug-ins. The installer presented a list with Java unchecked, and I entered through without realising it was a problem. Result-no Java plug-ins. MAC software updater does not indicate Java absent or out of date.

Actual results:

Now gmail loads, but messages will not display. Only the subject line displays. In order to view messages, I must open them in a print window. When I attempt to reply, the Rich Text editor will not load. Composing an email, the Rich Text editor loads just fine.

Expected results:

Need to re-install Java plug-ins. Cannot update the Java plug-in from the Firefox website. Any idea how to fix this issue? I am sure this is a plug-in issue as gmail works fine in Opera and Safari. I cannot update to any other version of Firefox as my machine is too old: a zombie basically.
ellen, have you seen this issue since?
