Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile

Does it load in Safari? What type of Anti-virus/firewall (if any) do you have installed?

It works at Safari. It will bring me to "www.baidu.com". I checked Firewall settings in System Preferences. It is off. my network is under University's VPN.

If you type www.baidu.com instead of baidu.com in Firefox does it work?
How about if you are not connected via the VPN?
You say the tab stays blank...do you get an activity indicator in the tab?

it works if i type www.baidu.com on Firefox, Safari and Chrome.
I tried in Chrome(typed baidu.com), it redirect me to a url that site is currently blocked.
I tried in Safari AGAIN(typed baidu.com), it also redirect me to a url that the site is currently blocked.
Sorry, I lived at campus, have difficult to try without VPN. The activity indicator runs less 1 second. After failed to load page, I can't click the white reload icon in location bar. I must click the location bar to make url text editable. Then I can click the green reload icon. I think it might be a VPN issue.

So how is Firefox behaving differently than other browsers? Are you just not getting the site blocked page in Firefox?
I try other blocked site, it will redirect me to blocked page.

So, I do not understand what the issue is here. Your campus is blocking pages....Firefox is telling you there is a block in effect.
What is the issue?
