i rebooted but it never came back.. i have basically have under estimated how much space disk space the machine needed.. so throwing a 50GB partition would be helpful :)

I've rebooted the machine but I'm having DNS issues right now so I can't actually remote to it (nor do I know your password).
Please assign bugs to me directly when you open infrastructure bugs that you want me to address. I happened to check my general mail folder and saw this.
50 GB is a lot of space. How much do you actually need right now?

5GB should suffice

I can increase the disk size, AFAIK, but you'll need to run tools to increase your partition. It isn't automatic.

ahh what commands would need to be run ?

I don't know. I've never done it via command line (well, not since about 1996).

By the way, it looks like when your machine reboots, it gets stuck at the GRUB boot loader, for some reason. I'm going to see if I can fix this.

Disk increased to 20 GB and server rebooted. It should be up now as machine is responding to SSH at 10.8.73.228.

Are you sure this is the same box ? password seems to not be the same.. i had ssh keys installed

I didn't log in or change anything beyond making the disk larger, which involved me deleting the original snapshot I set up on the device (but I didn't restore to it).
Does the original password work or neither that nor the current one (assuming you changed it).
The IP address above (10.8.73.228) is the one of the machine in my original e-mail to you. When or how did the IP address change?

Weird, according to ESX, this machine is openwebapps-jenkins.qa.phx1.mozilla.com, which is 10.8.73.24.

I'm going to open a bug to get its Mac address permanently associated with a DNS entry and ip address.

the original password, nor the new password work

Please e-mail me the new password.
I've opened a separate bug (bug 702780) to update and permanently assign your IP address.
At this point, I'm guessing that it wasn't permanently associated and when it rebooted, it got a new IP address but part of the system thinks it is at another.
When I have console open, I can see the machine boot but when X Windows starts, I just get a black screen and cannot get any further.
How configured was this box? Did you have lots of stuff on it? Obviously, we don't want to lose it but I'm not sure how damaging it is. Your other option is for me to set up a new box from scratch using the template but you'd lose your existing system then.

I will try to use Vmware converter to pull it down local.

Won't fixing this bug. We no longer maintain the openwebapps github repository per another bug (which was won't fixed for the same reason).
