Assuming a user wants to quickly access a page, when one launches Fennec and begins to type focus should be directed to the AwesomeBar using the HBK.

Sorry, I don't quite get it. We don't really have an address edit box, which could be focused. Do you mean start typing should bring up the awesome-screen? Is this a UX decision? Madhava?

This is without focus on anything; try it out in stock/dolphin. I start typing: "www", as soon as I start typing, the AwesomeBar should be invoked and valued with whatever I have typed and will continue to type.

OK, I see. Then the summary should be changed, as there is nothing to focus on. Does the new one reflect what you meant?
Summary: Typing with the HKB should invoke focus to the AwesomeBar → Typing with the HKB should open the Awesome Screen

Only possible exception is accelerator keys?

But generally, yes - if nothing is focused and you start typing, we might as well start in the awesomescreen.

We do want to make sure that documents continue to get keyevents, right?

What about find-in-page?
