User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0
Build ID: 20111104165243

Steps to reproduce:

If you are possessing hardware (mouse) with a scroll wheel which also has option for scrolling left & right (e.g. Lenovo Bluetooth Lasermouse) and you are opening a link in a new tab with the middle click, the link will be opend several times (1-4 times) if you are also activating the right/left scroll click of the mouse!
It has nothing to do with addons (i tested it with a fresh installed new system as well). The Problem stops, if you deactivate the function for the side-scrolling of the mouse, but then I cant scroll sidewards with my mousewheel any more!

Actual results:

tab opened several times

Expected results:

the link should have just opened once, instead of 1-4 times, even when i press the sidewards scrolling button at the same time as well!
Hmm I get the same behaviour but I'd always assumed that the problem was bounce on my mouse.
(on Linux, external mouse)

Also with conventional middle button and scrolling software, MacOS 10.14.6, Evoluent Vertical Mouse, Scroll+.

Severity: normal → S3
