I'm running "21: Make sure you can open more than 9 emails in windows" in the "navigating and displaying messages" Litmus test using Earlybird (10.0a2) while running in safe mode using a IMAP account. Thunderbird is configured to open messages in a new window, and to sort by threaded. I selected 10 messages and double clicked on it. Only one message window was created. The third and fourth message are in the same thread, the others are not in threads. I selected the same 10 messages and held down the shift key while double clicking on it. The task bar has a minimized window labeled "7 Earlybird". There are six message windows plus the Thunderbird main window (inbox). All of the message windows were minimized. I exited and restarted (no longer in safe mode). Repeated. This time it created 5 visible message windows. In neither case did it create the correct number of message windows.

Did you try hitting "Enter" to open the messages? That's what the Litmus test is trying to check. I wouldn't expect double-clicking to work right.
Eric, please, could you answer to comment #1?
