Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1 Build ID: 20110928134238 Steps to reproduce: Opened/saved an attachment and then tried to delete the message. Actual results: Dialog box entitled "Confirm" appears and states, "The following attachments will be permanently deleted from this message: <attachment> This action cannot be undone. Do you wish to continue?". Pressing the "OK" button deletes/detaches the attachment. The "Cancel" button closes the dialog box. The message can then be deleted without a prompt. Expected results: The message should have been deleted without any prompt.
OS: Mac OS X → Windows 7
(In reply to Andy Powell from comment #0) I get the same dialog box when deleting the attachment, but I don't get any prompt when deleting the message itself (after deleting the attachment). Try the upgrade to V 8. User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:8.0) Gecko/20111105 Thunderbird/8.0 Build ID: 20111105021619
The problem didn't present itself until the latest upgrade to V 8 (running on Windows 7). If a message has an attachment but the attachment is not opened, the message deletes without any prompt (as expected). The problem only occurs when an attachment is opened and then the message is deleted. This behavior was not present in previous versions.
