Details
Mozilla (and for that matter netscape 6.0) doesn't handle mime types properly
through the "Helper applications" entry in Prefernces:
For example, I am used to viewing articles in PDF format, and although I set the
mime-type in preferencs, Mozilla still keep offering to save files to disk
(which it does anyway in /var/tmp, under cryptic names, and does not do any
cleanup).
It will use acroread only if I specify the full path name
/opt/Acrobat4/bin/acroread (rather than the old familiar acroread %s of Netscape).
Same for other type of applications, e.g., Realplay.
Is there any way to use the plugins which worked in netscape (some of them like
plugger crash mozilla).
Also, the "About plugins" which was helpful in Netscape disappeared.
this is a dupe of something.
please one issue per bug; about plugins should land RSN
