Steps to reproduce:

When RSS feed summaries contain images the body is not shown until the image is downloaded and can be displayed. This has the unfortunate side effect of making the summary unreadable if the server is down and cannot serve the image or an error!


Actual results:

An RSS feed that I subscribe to has a summary that references an image on a server that is not responding. Therefore, Thunderbird is not showing the summary at all!

Fir the time being, the "Those small nice tools we all write" article on the following RS feed triggers the bug:

True. The text is not shown until the image is downloaded. I tried it with:
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:8.0) Gecko/20111105 Thunderbird/8.0
Build ID: 20111105021619

But this looks like a duplicate of bug 543394.
