Details

I know this is the intended behaviour, but normally, doubleclicking a word should select the *word* only. I would like to configure Mozilla sothat it acts according to this UI-standard. For selecting the entire URL, I'd simply hit Ctrl+A or triple-click. So this is not really a bug IMO, but a misfeature ;-) Note: I have set pref("browser.urlbar.clickSelectsAll",false); but what I want is that even on a doubleclick, only the word should be selected.
Would also be nice to have this double/triple click behavior on Linux, where it is also standard.

er.... right now double-click selects to the nearest whitespace on both sides in the urlbar under Linux, which is correct. Ignore my Linux comment. :)
I don't see this problem on Win98, at least using Mozilla's strange definition of a "word" as anything not containing spaces (bug 16352, mostfreq).

why is this marked as a beos bug (or feature request?) it works fine under beos (even the triple click), when words are sepeated by whitespace (not really common for urls, i know), but the same problem exists on windows too. So why not moving this bug somewhere else?
