Errors are being logged, but the only way for us to know when they happen is to go in and manually look at the logs.  We should have something on the server to notify us when an exception or other serious condition happens.
- check the SMTP server
- stream errors by e-mail

The old app sync codebase is no longer going to be supported. Apps in the cloud will be under a different codebase. None of these bugs are valid anymore.
