Details

Somehow I've gotten Firefox into a state in which I can't get it to display a tab of a current page. I can see the page, but not its tab.

I am not sure what happened, but here's the sequence of event to the best of my recollection. Hopefully, somebody will be able to reproduce it or fix it without reproducing it.

I clicked a link in a 3rd party program. The link was to a downloadable file. This usually (always?) opens a new empty tab. While it was downloading, I might have switch to another tab (or maybe I scrolled them in the tab row), then I closed Firefox by launching the updater. After I restarted Firefox, the problem started.

Now attempting to scroll the tabs in the tab row produces flickering while the tabs stay in place.
The URL bar correctly reflects the URL of a page I am working with, but the current tab isn't displayed. It's somewhere beyond the right edge of the tab bar.
