In landscape about:home apparently tries to lay out as many bookmarks as it can in each row (I can't see them because I can't pan down the page). When I rotate back to portrait, it attempts to keep the same number of items in each row, leading to way to many items in each row.

Just remembered, the panning problem is likely a WIP patch I have in my tree.
