User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:8.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0.1
Build ID: 20111120135848

Steps to reproduce:

On 32-Bit Windows 7 install running in a Virtual Box Guest container.

Updated the browser when pop-up said update was available. The install simply went away and none of my short cuts to firefox would work.

I then tried to download the software manually, which succeeded, but the installer would just go away during the extraction of the files.

Actual results:

After investigating, I found that I did not have enough free disk space for the extraction. The installer never reported a problem, the extraction just didn't happen.

Expected results:

The installer should not silently fail if there is insufficient free disk space to extract the installation files.

dupe of bug 266591?

Nope
Summary: Firefox install silently fails due to disk space during extraction → Firefox install silently fails due to disk space during extraction on virtualbox
It would be nice if the installer create a warning at least.

Can I help confirming this bug? It's *not* a dupe of bug 266591 and I just experienced the same issue.
