The current overall user rating (and stats) on the add-on page isn't indicative of the current rating of the add-on as reviews from years ago are also included. For a more relevant reflection, have the page also show rating (and stats) of a recent duration (e.g. current + past 11 months) above the current overall rating. Example: Jan ~ Dec 2011 3-stars xxx User Ratings ***** xxx **** xxx *** xxx ** xxx * xxx Overall 5-stars xxxxx User Ratings ***** xxx **** xxx *** xxx ** xxx * xxx
To make this fairer for add-ons with a small audience (e.g. Thunderbird Addons that only work on Mac, or just Newsreading Add-Ons) this might be fairer if you used the last 20 reviews (as there might not be that many to choose from)
Whether Little Spark's time frame based filter or Axel's last 'X' filter is used, there needs to be some sort of filter that filters out old reviews from the overall review score. At the same time as Little Spark suggested, users still need to see an overall score.
