this is straightforward - most of the so-called nightlies are put out in the morning. so why are we still calling them nightlies, then? duH. "morninglies" sounds too stupid, and "dailies" better emphasizes the chronicity of the builds.

it's always night somewhere, so this name is totally arbitrary.

but i thought the bay area was the center of the world.... after all, daily builds are "named" based on their pdt/pst release time, right? and what time zone are daily builds actually built in, huh? sheesh.

i'm not going to rename the nightly directory to daily, to suit some pedantic idea of correctness. I'm sure many people have scripts that rely on the path which includes "nightly" and i'm not willing to make the numerous automation changes each time we change when our primary build times happen. Outside of that, we make builds pretty much around the clock at times (4am, 8am, and 8pm, all pacific, at least), so "daily" is actually not even any more correct than "nightly" is.
