Once bug 586842 is fixed, we should be able to do this. It'd reduce the number of pointer chases needed to get the class.
Bug 827490 just landed.  Is that enough to progress?
Yes.
Yes, now that slow arrays are gone the road here is clear.  I'd like to do this soon as it will allow some new optimizations and clean up a fair bit of gunk that exists for mapping types to classes.
