Zbigniew,
Hi. I am hoping you can answer a few questions about the guides.m.o site. If you are not the person I need to talk to can you tell me who is?
The background is that we are moving the server cluster that this site runs on to a new datacenter. The new location has newer underlying software (operating system, php, etc). We are migrating to the new dev -> stage -> prod work-flow at this time as well.
First I am curious if you can tell me if there is a reason that the code that is currently running in production is older than what is in the Mercurial repository? Basically the issue is that I have had to make a few changes to get the site running in the new location (due to a newer php version and stricter php security settings) and I need to get these changes into the repository. I have noticed that several of my changes are already in the repository but that they never made it to the server, hence my question.
Second question is if you can take a look around then new dev site and let me know if you see any issues? http://guides-dev.allizom.org
We would like to switch the site over to the new hardware quite soon and I am hoping we can get these issues sorted. If we can update to current head then I can generate some diffs to be applied and then I can get the dev site to auto update and get the newest code deployed in the new (soon to be) production environment. Once this is done then we will need to schedule a time to do the final content sync (database and images) and switch the site to the new location.
As a side note. In the new dev location I have updated to the newest code for mediawiki, the openID extension, the openid extension auth component, and the Oxygen icons in the cmo skin.
Please let me know if you need any additional information, when you think you will have time to look at this, and if you are not the correct person.
Thanks for your help.

We didn't get IT resources to update the code to the latest revision from the repo :(

Can you tell me when you might have time to move forward with this?
Thanks

it looks good, feel free to move to the new dev whenever you feel you're ready.

I realised when I went to pull fresh copy that this site is now only in archive and I cannot get a new database dump. I went ahead and took a copy of the site as archived here:
http://people.mozilla.org/~cmore/guides.mozilla.org/Mozilla_Community.html
and put it in dev and then created a new prod site here:
http://guides-archive.mozilla.org/
It would probably be best if you change the archive pointer to this new site, the link on this page:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/MarketingGuide
as this is where the current guides.m.o site points to.
I will close this out now but please let me know if there are any issues.
Regards
