Steps to reproduce:
i always do a manual update of the 4 releases nightly aurora beta and stable from the browser by going to about, help, about Firefox then check for any update
Actual results:
all other releases are updating except the stable version. the latest is 8.01 but it won't update
Expected results:
it should update just like in other releases. even if i don't have to download a new installer.

That is because there is no difference between FF8.0 and FF8.0.1 for windows.
The difference are 2 fixes for OS X and you don't get the not needed update to 8.0.1
