I've been encountering this today with the 20111208 nightly, at least on https://touch.facebook.com/ and some various sites linked to from it.
Seen on my Nexus One (Android 2.3.6) and my Kindle Fire (2.3.4).
Steps to reproduce (doesn't *always* happen, but have repro'd at least 3 times between 2 devices):
* go to https://touch.facebook.com/ and log in
* follow a link someone posted, such as <http://www.fastcompany.com/blog/tucker-viemeister/whats-cookin/when-design-also-teacher?partner=rss> or <http://noisesociety.com/nicklaslundblad.se/?p=624>
Actual results:
* panning stops working -- tap-and-drag doesn't move the linked page (I can see the scrollbar boxes indicating that scroll space is available; and there may or may not be repeated loading animations in the awesomebar for a while, but those go away)
* after going back to facebook, find that the same has happened to facebook
Expected results:
* should be able to pan at the linked page
* after going back to facebook, should still be able to pan
Quitting and restarting Firefox restores panning to working, at least until it breaks again!

Are you able to reproduce this on today's Nightly?
I have no issues panning up and down on touch.facebook.com (Samsung Galaxy SII Android 2.3.6). The page fits to screen so I was unable to pan left and right.

Well I'm not seeing the scroll problem on touch.facebook.com today (20111212 nightly), however I can't fully reproduce the conditions -- I can't get back to Facebook from a followed link by pressing the 'back' button.
It seems to try jumping around through several pages in the awesomebar, jumps around the zoom a bunch of times, and ends up on the same page.

Running latest nightly 20111213
On my two tablet devices, checkerboarding is so bad that I can not effectively run the tests.
However I'm not seeing any sort of scroll/panning problem on either these nor my phone (Samsung Galaxy 2.)
