I'm not sure if they're doing some sort of hidden background image loading and it's just showing up in the wrong place on the page or not, but it looks super weird.

The slideshow in question is on this page:

   http://www.nytimes.com/pages/dining/index.html

Middle (narrowest) column, under the "Holiday Gift Guide" stuff.

I'll attach screenshots from my phone for when it's loading and out of position, and another when it's in the right spot.

I can reproduce this on a HTC Desire S Android 2.3.5.
