The page eventually renders ok, but it appears to be a full reload because I end up back at the top of the page, regardless of where I was when I did the "open link in new tab" thing. Part of the wonkiness is that it displays the full page as a thin/tiny version for a second, like in the screenshot attached to bug 708910.

The redraw also loses my current zoom level.

On the Good Magazine mobile site, if you "Open Link in New Tab" from an article page, the redraw gets stuck in the tiny/thin mode and doesn't reload completely until you force a full reload.
