Protocol handlers allow links like mailto:nobody@mozilla.org to be handled by a webmail application.
In order to do that, the site needs to support a special API described on http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Web-based_protocol_handlers.
For en-US, we're currently shipping with GMail and Yahoo! Mail for mailto:, 30boxes for webcal: and Mibbit for irc: urls, and we're on a ongoing evangelism effort to add more. For Fulah, we'd like to do that, too.
First, the localization team and Milos (Milos Dinic) will look at the market for the language and come up with a good candidates. Ibrahima, we'll need your input on this, the guidelines for making recommendations are on <https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Firefox/Productization>. Following that is a reach out by the evangelism team to try to get the vendor to support protocol handlers.
Once that happens, Milos will take over in reviewing the actual implementation, which will need to change the gecko.handlerService.* entries in browser/chrome/browser-region/region.properties. Please don't make changes to that file without getting a positive review by Milos or somebody else appointed by Milos/Stas on a patch for that change upfront.
The Fulah team will be driving this bug to completion.

Hi
Yahoo ang Gmail are the most popular mail services within Fulah communities.
I am not sure about webcal and irc though.

I'm leaning towards using the defaults for this one. Just to make sure, Ibrahima, would you please try exploring the market for these a bit more? I did my best but didn't come upon any candidates for replacing the default set explained in this bug's description.

Hi
Again here I have no idea what to do exactly. I read the instructions but these should also depend on fallback language, for the time being.

Basically, I thought you may help us find candidates in your language for services mentioned in bug description, or something that can be better for Fulah users.
Given that you already said we should fall back to French, do you want us to use what's used in French Firefox?

Ibrahima, then please check out hg repository for fulah(hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n/mozilla-aurora/ff), make the changes needed, create a diff, save it to a file, attach here and mark as patch, and ask me for a review by adding `?` next to review field and milos@mozilla.com to the right of it.
I suggest you contact Dwayne about this.

Hi,
I am not but a translator. I dunno how to "create a diff"? or what "changes" to make?? I am unfamiliar with those. Will contact Dwayne...

Ibrahima, given you want to fall back to French, and French uses en-US defaults, there's nothing we should do here.
