User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.24) Gecko/20111103 Firefox/3.6.24 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Build ID: 20111103063747

Expected results:

A menu option to provide total word/character count for a composed message would be great. Even better would be a dynamically updated word/character count that appears automatically in the status bar of the message composition window.

Smells like dupe, but all I could find was bug 105511.

Out of curiosity...

The Product on this is Thunderbird, and bug 105511 is Seamonkey. All the component, flags, QA contact, cc list and everything don't align with the Thunderbird community.

Will the community of programmers be different? Will the Project flags, noted here, be relevant if the only activity is that old bug?
