Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows NT 5.0)
BuildID: 20010305

I test the browser builds daily and for the past week or so they hang on
startup. NB after this happened 0.8 also doesn't startup anymore.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
Happens on both _my_ Win2000 machines. Assume not widespread or you'd have
fixed it by now.

Actual Results: Browser hangs on startup.

Expected Results: Browser doesn't hang on startup.

Not sure what special config. issues there could be.
I generally run the nightly builds daily so is it possible one of them had a
bug which messes up the registry or something?
Also I installed the latest JDK from Sun but the nightly which crashes doesn't
even have the plug-ins installed.

Sorry for the lack of detail I only use the browser as a single application -
if there are more detailed steps to test the components I'd be happy to do them.
Seeing something similar on NT. As I recall, I didn't even update my copy
between the last time it worked and the time that all of them started not
working, but I can't be sure.

In my case, it doesn't even get as far as the splash screen: it starts, churns
for a few seconds, and then I have a "mozilla.exe" process that doesn't do
anything (except take up a line in the task manager display...).

I deleted my user directory and the registry in c:\winnt and unzipped into a
fresh directory, which has usually solved this sort of problem for me in the
past.

another corrupted profile removing the profile worksforme per reporter's comments.

Hello,

Deleting the Mozilla directory from "\Documents and Settings\[user]\Application
Data" fixed the Hang-On-Startup problem.

I kept the bad folder if you'd like to look at it.

Best regards,

Phil.
