This will be fixed when the Backbone branch is merged with default. The search API call should happen asynchronously parallel to the web search API. Right now in default the websearch API call happens after a successful search API call.

Was busted (again), is now fixed. The following are supported and should all result in the query being submitted and search results displayed: * type search terms in search box and hit the enter key * type search terms in search box and click the magnifying glass icon * type search terms in the search box and pause for a second or 2.
