A new Firefox profile includes a link to the "Getting started" page on the Bookmarks toolbar. The objective of this page is to provide the users with a few task-based starting points. They could use them to enjoy the web and discover sites that will help them get the most out of Firefox and the Internet in general. This page will be aimed towards beginning and intermediate Web users. We want to promote community/user oriented collaborative sites with good user experience in your region and language, and good standards support. The current en-GB defaults for this page are: The 'Work' category: Google Docs, Remember the Milk, LinkedIn, Clipmarks Add-on The 'Learn' category: Wikipedia, Topix, HowStuffWorks.com, Answers Add-on The 'Play' category: YouTube, Hype Machine, Miro, PicLens Add-on The 'Connect' category: Criagslist, Yelp, Facebook, Shareaholic Add-on (See the en-GB page at http://www.mozilla.com/en-GB/firefox/central/.) We would like to provide a good set of links on this page for our Ligurian users. First, the localization team and Milos (Milos Dinic) will look at the market for your language and come up with a good candidates. Alessio, we'll need your input on this, of course. The guidelines for making recommendations are on <https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Firefox/Productization>. Second, once we have a good list of candidates, your localization team will localize the 'Getting Started' index.html file which can be found here: http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/en-GB/firefox/central/index.html?content-type=text%2Fplain&view=co changing the en-GB default as agreed in the first step. The logos should be named sites-<sitename>.png and should be 110px wide and 65px high on white or transparent background. Milos can help on getting the logos from the website owners. The localized index.html and the logos should be then attached in a ZIP archive to this bug, and a review should be requested from Milos (milos@mozilla.com) and Pascal (pascalc@gmail.com). Once the review have been granted, Pascal will take over to push the localized page on the server. The Ligurian team will be driving this bug to completion. Thank you.

This isn't really blocking the release of Firefox, so removing the dependency. We still want this page to get users familiar with our software, like presenting functionality without diving into technical specifics.
No longer blocks: fx-l10n-lij
Hi, I can't read the link: http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/en-GB/firefox/central/index.html?content-type=text%2Fplain&view=co I see only a short php page... Meanwhile I'm looking for the category you have said (most of the site in eng version are good for ligurian user)
(You must understand that the most ligurian native language speaks the italian better than ligurian.) For me is not all clear to go on in this bug resolution, if I understand well I must make a list of site like this: ===Live Bookmark========================================== -IL SECOLO XIX: is the most important newspaper in Liguria and is well known in all Italy: http://www.ilsecoloxix.it/ ===Search================================================= -General: Google.it; Bing.it -Ligurian Wiki on: http://lij.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pagina_prin%C3%A7ip%C3%A2 -A Wiki italian/Ligurian dictionary on: http://www.paroledigenova.net/ -for ecommerce: ebay.it/amazon.it ===RSS==================================================== -Google Reader (in italian)... we have not something like this in ligurian
Аllesio, Sorry for the confusion. This page has changed, thus description in this bug doesn't really suit it. The central page as we knew it, and as described in this bug is gone, and was replaced with something we used to call features page. The page, in Italian, is: http://www-dev.allizom.org/it/firefox/central/ So, that's a page where we're describing Firefox features, trying to present its cool features to Firefox users in your language. Now, with regards to that link you pasted, that's not what you should be translating, but this: http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/lij/firefox/central/content.inc.html?revision=90748&view=markup So, please check out: https://svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/lij/ And translate files that you find in the folder. Should you have any other questions, please ask in this bug, or mail me directly. Thanks!
Thanks! Now all is more clear! But I still have a problem: if I go to the link: https://svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/lij/ a "Not Found" message appears... And then if I translate on my desktop the file http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/lij/firefox/central/content.inc.html?revision=90748&view=markup then I must attach it on this bug?
Alessio, sorry about that. I copy pasted and forgot to remove "/vc/" part. So, the url is: https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/lij/
Hi Milos I've translated all that can be translate... I've recreated the path of site in this zip file... I hope is all ok...

Alessio, I have just file a bug for you to get SVN access, so that you can commit files on your own. Once that's done, I'll get back to this.
No longer depends on: 725959

Great! But where I can upload this file?
Maybe I must use the hg?
I tried to do this: $ hg clone https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/lij SITOWEB and it doesn't work.. How can I modify the web site? I don't must use the hg command?
This is a site under subversion (svn), you should check it out with svn: svn co https://svn.mozilla.org/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/lij SITOWEB
Commited! I hope it's all ok... Thanks
some of your files are not in UTF8, /ex: http://viewvc.svn.mozilla.org/vc/projects/mozilla.com/trunk/lij/download/content.inc.html?revision=101543&view=markup&pathrev=101543 Can you check all of your files, change the encoding to UTF8 and recommit them please? Thanks
ehm.. How can I set the encoding of a file?
This is a setting in your text editor, if your text editor doesn't provide this option, I suggest this free text editor which works for Windows and Linux: http://www.geany.org/
Thanks!! Done, I've used notepad++.
