User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.7; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 Build ID: 20111104165243 Steps to reproduce: I have firefox 8.0 installed on a Mac running OS 10.7. In animated images in yahoo mail and posted on various sites (such as http://theweaselking.livejournal.com/4088691.html), the "firefox plugin process Shockwave Flash) uses gradually more CPU until it maxes at 100% and "chokes" the function of the rest of the machine. These images always produce this issue. These images do not appear to be either Flash or Shockwave in nature. Actual results: The process goes to 100% cpu utilization and does not recover without manually killing the process. Expected results: The image should have been displayed and handled without a process crash.
Which version of Flash are you using? You can type about:plugins in the URL bar to check.
Shockwave Flash File: Flash Player.plugin Version: 10.1.102.64 Shockwave Flash 10.1 r102 MIME Type Description Suffixes application/x-shockwave-flash Shockwave Flash swf application/futuresplash FutureSplash Player spl
Please upgrade to Flash 11.1.102.55 from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ Does it still happen?
Upgrading to this newer version of Flash solves the issue. CPU utilization on the flash process does not rise over 1.1%. Thanks.
