Steps to reproduce:
I updated my Thunderbird (I can't remember what version I had) When the instal was complete I see the e-mails that were there from prior version but nothing shows up in the preview pane; Nor can I cycle through from inbox to sent messages unless I "Open" that link and it gives me a new window... The former is no longer useful as it does nothing. I lost all my quick buttons, (ie reply forward) and no longer see e-mail addresses in the preview. I am thoroughly disappointed in this release of Thunderbird. I am inquiring if this is an isolated case or is there a huge bug in the release of the update that essentially crashed older versions?
Actual results:
I will likely delete Thunderbird and go back to the dark side of Outlook.
Expected results:
The install should not have essentially killed my Thunderbird.

another possibility start tbird in safe mode?
can you try version 9?
