2001 3/5 05 WinNT I encountered a document that crashed every time I tried to print it. Looking at the source of the document, it's got a very simple structure but has the Tahoma font specified on almost everything. I saved this document to my local publish area and printed it and crashed on print. I opened it in our editor and simply saved it again and crashed on print. I opened it in our editor and changed the font for the entire document to "Helvetica, arial" (by selecting the whole document) and saved it. With the fonts changed, it no longer crashes on print. It may be that the editor did some other cleanup, but superficially it seems related to the use of the Tahoma font. I will attach the original crashing document and then my non-crashing version.

Could you attach a Dr. Watson log as well?

I don't know if I have dr watson or how to use it. I should have mentioned that I've been using double-sided on the long edge for each test and I haven't tried it without that yet. Munging around in the file, it seems that I only crash if there is actually text on the second page. I lied about attaching the files, I can't post this internal document publicly. I'm trying to reduce this to a simplified test case now...

I now have it down to 2 files that differ by only a small amount. One crashes the other does not. There isn't anything very special about the difference, I deleted 2 lines of text and one blank line. The 2 lines of text were <li> <font face="Tahoma">some text goes here</font></li> I can make the files available internally, but now I'm stumped on how to reduce this to a test case that I can make public. (Other attempts to create a similar document with different text didn't exhibit the problem.)

selmer@netscape.com: Can you try printing your document with a recent build? I checked in a fix for printing last week that fixed several mysterious crashing bugs.

I can not get documents w/Tahoma fonts to crash while printing on WINNT with todays build. My fix for reparenting the frames floating children when printing probably fixed this bug. Marking FIXED.
