Details
I have problem saving a displayed page in firefox 8.0 (in Ubuntu 10.04LTS-2) in a new folder rather than the default "Download" folder. If I click on the "Create Folder" button, a new blank folder is shown in the folder list but this blank folder disappears fast, even before I finish writing name of the folder. This did not happen with my 3.6.26 version of firefox.

Are you running the Ubuntu build or the official Mozilla build? Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode How about with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile

1. I think I am using the Ubuntu build. I had used these commands while upgrading firefox: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade 2. The problem persists even if I use an empty new profile. 3. I hesitate to use firefox in safe mode since that would mean disabling add-ons. I am in fact using apparmor profile for firefox (supplied by ubuntu), and two add-ons: no-script and adblockplus. I had used all these with my previous version of firefox and there was no problem.

I forgot to mention that I am using apparmor in enforced mode. Also running firefox in safe-mode did not help. What should I do?

Does the problem occur if you turn off apparmour? You can also test with an official Mozilla build and a clean profile and see if it occurs...
