Go to http://www.excite.com/; log in; and click the "layout" button in the excite startpage banner. The window that appears contains a generic overview of your startpage, and allows you to move columns around within it. However, when choosing this selection within mozilla, the generic overview appears, but is entirely empty. The following javascript error is seen in the javascript console: this.Doc.layers has no properties http://home.excite.com/mesp/change/home/layoutnew/layoutnewbody This makes me think this error is a javascript error; but that javascript does work under IE5, IE4, and versions of Netscape. -Ryan
Should be INVALID. It's excite's fault that they don't support standard DOM bindings. Reporter: your solution would be to write to Excite and suggest that they support newer versions of Netscape and Mozilla. Currently, they only support IE (document.all) and Netscape-4 (document.layers). Claim you use Netscape-6.1 (in case they haven't heard of Mozilla). ;)
Yep, site uses document.layers/document.all with no provisions for W3C DOM. Over to evangelism component to have someone contact them. Reporter, if you could do that that would be great.
