Details
I'm filing this, since I always forget the domain entry for the smpo stage site, and to me it makes sense to tie it to our main domain.
KaiRo owns the DNS of seamonkey-project.org so can easily tie this up, if Jens provides the IP/Etc. info he would need.
I'll leave it to you both to decide if this is a good idea/doable though.

I think we need something like this (which I cannot do myself):
stage.seamonkey-project.org. CNAME <staging.website.hostname>.
I'm not opposed to giving it a try at all.

Jens/KaiRo I remember you two discussing this on IRC a week or so ago, where are we here :-)

I told KaiRo on IRC that he should just go ahead and implement anything that's needed on his side, and then tell me what I have to do on mine. I didn't hear anything to the contrary, I think that's the plan. Probably just a matter of time, or am I wrong, Robert? :-)

The CNAME has been added, you need to configure an Alias on your webserver to accept stage.seamonkey-project.org accesses.
In the future, I'd hope that this stage will move to the same setup as the prod system, but let's do this for now.

I think this works now. Please someone confirm and close this bug. :-)

Not sure what you mean. I certainly wouldn't want to wait for stage changes I make to only take effect whenever some cron job runs the next time. If you however mean it shouldn't be on my server then we certainly agree.

I forgot the login details there, but I get the prompt for them-

If/when we move to a different VCS like hg or git, we can probably 1) have the production site use a static tag while a stage uses trunk and 2) possibly apply a checkin hook to trigger a rebuild immediately, but not sure it's needed.
