User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:12.0a1) Gecko/20111224 Firefox/12.0a1 Build ID: 20111224031026 Steps to reproduce: My account folders just disappeared in the folder tree view. Actual results: I can only view the Local Folders in the account tree view. I have several POP email accounts. None of them show up. Expected results: I should be able to view the Local Folders and all my email account folders.

Is there anything on the error console?
Hi, I filed another bug with everything that is on the error console. The bug number is 713478 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=713478 Thanks, Norman
I have a lot of add-on but tried in safe mode and it still does the same thing.
Hi, I tried again today in safe mode and I still can't send and receive email. The accounts still don't show up in the folder tree. This is what I posted today in bug 713478 I don't know if this helps because they are two different issues. These are the errors I got today: Sending of message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to SMTP server smtp.live.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your SMTP server settings are correct and try again, or contact the server administrator. ---------------------------------------------- Timestamp: 12/27/2011 09:44:42 AM Warning: Use of getAttributeNodeNS() is deprecated. are your accounts listed in Account Settings?
Severity: normal → critical

Yes, all my accounts are listed in Account Settings.
If you are on nightly updates and 20111224031026 fails, does it work if you go back to the prior day's build 20111223 ?

I have Firefox set to update automatically so I get updated almost every day. I think I should turn that off though. I'm using today's build. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:12.0a1) Gecko/20120102 Thunderbird/12.0a1 ID:20120102030146
NRL, will you be able to test prior nightlies such as ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/2011-12-23-03-00-26-comm-central/ ? if it also fails then we have a better handle on the issue.
Sure
Hi, I am still missing the folders so can you post the 12-22 build? If you want can you post the 12-21 build so I can compare the different builds? If I remember correctly, TB 12.0a1 was released on the 20th or 21st of last month. I know it was right before Christmas. TB 11.0a1 was okay. This happened shortly after I updated to TB 12.0a1. Norman
This is a surprise - I would have guessed this might be a regression from Bug 402392 - Support other message storage formats, in which case 2011-12-24 will work and 2011-12-25 will fail. But apparently not. 12-21 build is ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/2011-12-21-03-00-35-comm-central/ you can navigate the "ftp tree" to find other nightly builds - the directory has "-comm-central" in the name, and the windows builds will normally be found in one of the last two build directories for that date ("-03-00-35 is hh:mm:ss on that build date)
I'm involved in another bug and I today I decided to create a new/additional profile. Both problems seem to be gone in the new profile. They asked me to do a stack trace. I will do that on the old profile and if they or you want the new one. Is this something that you would like to look at too? I will start this tomorrow. I did not look at the build from 12-21 yet.
I'm disappointed to report that the account folders are gone again. I will still do the stack trace on both profiles. I downloaded the Microsoft program you want me to use last night. I do not have Visual Basic though, if I need it I will download the free version. I'm really bummed out this morning.
Hi, I haven't looked at the folder issue because of other issues I'm having but I thought of something today. This probably has nothing to do with anything but you know better than I do. I'm attaching two images, one of the Server Settings and the other of Copies & Folders settings. I have all my email going to the Local Folders. I noticed that if I directed email to Local Folders the corresponding folder in Account Folders would not show up. If I direct all email (Inbox, Outbox, Sent, Drafts, Templates, Archives, Junk, and Trash) to the Local Folders maybe none of the Account Folders will show up because they are not being used. Could it be possible that only the folders that are used show up in the folder tree? Norman
(In reply to NRLacasse from comment #16) > Created attachment 586982 [details] > Account Settings: Sever Settings yes, those settings show that you're using the global inbox, so we don't show the per account folders, just the local folders ones. If you didn't set TB to use the global inbox, it sounds like that setting got flipped behind your back somehow, I don't know how.
I'm glad I thought about this today, it makes sense. I can live with it like this now that I know the program is working and I'm going to get my email. As far as I know I am getting all my email. This puts my mind at ease. Thanks for confirming my thought this morning and thanks to everyone that worked on this bug.
