I am subscribed in some discussion lists and recently I started to see that the
number of messages that I am receiving is diferent the number of messages that
is showed in task bar.
So I compared the number of messages in webmail and after I receive using POP.
In one case I had 10 messages in Webmail and I received only one. The others
just disappears.

Are you using message filters for the POP account?

Reporter,
In addition to the question by Laurel can you also please tell us which webmail
are you using( yahoo, excite)? Who the provider is? We have few instances of
unable to receive pop messages and any feed back to the questions above would
help us in trying to narrow down this problem. Thanks.

Hello,
I am using message filters and I have three POPs account. I saw this problem
more frequently in third account.
I saw the problem with the webmail of the portal www.ig.com.br. But the problem
happened with others accounts.
One interesting thing is that the only messages that disapperars are messages of
discussion lists that have the same begin of subject (e.g. [openca-users:264]
Commercial applications of OpenCA). The string the "openca-users" is in all
messages.
If you have more any question, please write me.
Since you're using filters and the accounts are POP, I would imagine you are
encountering linux bug #68737.
Try removing the .msf file for the filter destination folder then launch and go
to that folder. The "missing" previously filtered messages should be revealed.
We'll wait a day or so before marking this a duplicate bug to give you time to
respond.

I deleted all .msf files in my Mail directory. Almost all folders had a .msf
file. But I didn't see the messages that disappeared.
Some messages that I had deleted appear again in my Inbox.
I can't affirm that the bug is the same that 68737 because my old messages
didn't appear.
I will continue using mozilla and I will write to you if I note something different.
My best Regards.
Luciano Ignaczak
When you're filtering, are you filtering to a folder on the same POP account or
are you filtering from one account to another?
Unless we figure out otherwise, when 68737 is fixed, we should reevalutate. I
marked a dependency on that bug for my own tickler purposes...

I'm filtering the messages from 3 pop accounts to some folders in Local Folders.
I'll wait the bug 68737 to be fixed so I'll test this again.

It seems suspicious that only msgs with that string are being lost. Are you
sure none of your filter rules are deleting them or moving them somewhere you
didn't expect (possibly due to a bug?)

The filters don't delete msgs just move them to others folders. I have few
folders so I guess that I didn't lose any message. :)
