Let's figure out the right URL(s) to use for this new product since it will live on mozilla.org/firefox.

Please consider the discoverability nuances to this project - read more about those in the project brief or in the tracking bug 712470.

I suggest making this URL SEO friendly from the beginning in order to establish the best google juice as possible, early on.

Chrome URL as an example:
https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/business/browser/

Chrissie - throwing this over to you for suggestions since you own the IA of the site. Thanks!
Just added Stormy to help here as well.

Ideas....

Landing Page URL:

* http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations
* http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/large-organizations
* http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/business

Learn More/FAQ Page URL:

/features is more user-friendly and powerful for seo than FAQ and works with competitor structures

* http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/features
* http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/large-organizations/features
* http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/business/features

Page Titles:

* Download Firefox for Your Organization - Free, Fast, Secure
* Firefox Download - Free, Fast, Secure - For your organization
* Firefox Download for Your Organization - Free, Fast, Secure Web Browser
* Firefox Download for Businesses, Schools, & Government Agencies
OS: Mac OS X → All
Hardware: x86 → All

Thanks Chrissie--

This product and its supporting pages are not meant to be easily searchable, friendly, or "marketing" focused. This is a page we want to have available for the right audiences, and I fear that we're going too far to the mainstream with what you've outlined below.

Can we not just keep it to http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/extended_support?

Feels to friendly otherwise.

Again, I want this to be less general-user friendly. Also, the page we're creating is an FAQ, so not sure why we would call it a features page when its not.

I'd like to wait on this a bit until we see what Matej comes up with.
Laura, let's table this until the page is designed. At that point, I'll make my recommendation for placement in the Firefox site URL structure.

The page will be discoverable by all search engines, unless we explicitly make it a "no follow." My recommendation would be to name and place the page in the best location for the users and optimize for SEO. Better to control how the web sees it, than let other bloggers or companies control that in their search results for us.

A good example would be to go to google and type in "Firefox Speed" and see what comes up. A lot of content by bloggers and competitors about how we're performing and none of our own (until the Speed page recently).

Hey Chrissie - Check out this design: https://bug712795.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=588484

Let us know:
1. Proposed URL
2. Where this should live within the mozilla.org/firefox navigation

Do you need anything else before getting started?

Timeframe: would be nice to establish by 1/24.

OR

Page Titles:

* Download Firefox Extended Release Support for Your Organization - FAQ

OR

* Download Firefox Extended Release Support for Your Organization - Overview

No where :-)

> Do you need anything else before getting started?

I've included some variations above, lmk if I can provide more insight.

Prefer overview.

> * Download Firefox Extended Release Support for Your Organization - FAQ

Prefer this one, but might be good to stay consistent with Overview if thats the url we decide to use.

I think we should discuss including a link within the /releases tab. I can see reasons for including it, and reasons not to as well. Can you explain your position a bit more?

When we last spoke, you mentioned not wanting it discoverable from the main product site.

Scenarios:

#1. Users will discover these pages through highly qualified searches around "Firefox ESR, Firefox Organizations" and through direct links from colleagues, mailing lists, journalists.

#2. We can also enable more direct discoverability, from the header, under releases, or from the footer, or both.

Here is how Chrome does this for Businesses - http://www.diigo.com/item/image/1981d/g78n

SEO:

If we don't optimize around the terms "Firefox for Business, Firefox for Enterprise, Browser for Enterprise," we will not show up in competitive search results.

This does really hurt us, and the best way to see that is to go to your Google search and search for:

Firefox for Business
Firefox for Enterprise
Browser for Enterprise

A lot of bad information out there around highly qualified searches that we could suppress if we're willing to be more flexible in our positioning.

LMK if you want more detail!
Chrissie - thanks for the recommendations - again I think we should start off on a strong point in terms of SEO - note that we can always adjust discover-ability if needed.

Decisions made on this bug so far:
1. The final URL to be used is: http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/overview
2. Page title: Download Firefox Extended Release Support for Your Organization - FAQ

Open Questions:
1. Where this should live. I recommend launching it only in the footer, or as a orphan page since we're concerned with traffic, and then incorporating it into our Nav header when we're ready. LoMo - What say you?

(this is for the landing page, right? If so, I'm ok with this this.

(Also for the landing page? If so, I think this is fine. Just want to know/how if we change for the FAQ page at all.

Agree with incorportaing in to the footer for now. We can see if we need to elevate it later, but not thinking we should necessarily.
OK, so looks like here's the final roundup:

Landing page
*http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/
*Page title: Download Firefox Extended Release Support for Your Organization, Business, Enterprise

FAQ
http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/overview
*Page title: Firefox Extended Release Support for Your Organization, Business, Enterprise - Overview

Add link in footer under releases
*Firefox ESR
OR
*Firefox for Organizations

I like Firefox for Organizations, please.
Agree.

Closing this since the URL naming has been resolved. I'll throw the final verdict over to the implementation bug.
