Steps to reproduce:

find-search messages


Actual results:

XP:  find-search message  window position is not consistent.  half the time the window is out of screen limits and cannot be resized.  In addition, the "X" is not visible so I have to do a Alt-F4 to close the window


Expected results:

find-search message window should be in the same position each time and limits should be completely visible.

How do you activate this window? is it through Edit -> Find -> Search Messages ? For me, this window is created small in the middle of screen and its borders are visible.

Yes, that is the activation procedure I use.  I have just upgraded to v9 and the same thing happens, a window larger than the screen.

does removing the localstore.rdf file from your profile fixes the issue ?

Yes, that appears to be the solution.  When localstore.rdf regenerates the window behaves.  I have tried about twenty times.  Several times I have resized the window, closed and the window came back at its closed size and position.  I believe this bug can be closed.
