User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:12.0a1) Gecko/20111226 Firefox/12.0a1
Build ID: 20111226031002
Steps to reproduce:
Usually adding bookmarks via the menu is quick and painless: click the menu and select the very first item.
This has changed for FF 12 and likely someday long before, but it's a real annoyance from a usability standpoint. You always want the most frequently used item at the first place where now is "Show all Bookmarks". The latter is far less frequently used than "add".
Actual results:
Unexpected "Show all bookmarks" instead of "Add"
Expected results:
see above
Please change the order of these menu items back and make "add bookmark" the first one again.

I agree having "Show all bookmars" or "Show bookmarks toolbar" before anything else isn't the best for usability.
However I'd prefer the list of the bookmarks just before the add (as I use the star in the address bar to add bookmars).
Well as usual, this is all just personal opinion, as is mine. I just plain disagree as I am used to using FF differently.
The very best however would be to offer an option for users to alter the order (even if it would mean to edit some config files). I have more than one disagreement with FF as it currently stands, see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=714685, so this could be considered a general problem.

I don't think anything changed in FF12 related to this...

No, I think it's the same since Firefox 4. However we should see what someone from the UX team thinks.
OS: Windows 7 → All
Hardware: x86 → All
Version: 12 Branch → unspecified

Ah ok, so this may be a dupe, since I remember the same discussion from the past
Whiteboard: [DUPEME]
Sorry guys, I have been using FF 3.6 all the time so I'm just very recently annoyed by this. Maybe an option or some limited possibility to customize menu bars as you can do with the tool bars will do? Sounds complicated, but it's really annoying to me. :-(

fwiw, there are a bunch of ways to add a bookmark quickly, from drag&drop to CTRL+D to ALT+B,DOWN,ENTER, double click on the star and so on.
