Details

The MozCamp in Latin America is near and we want to identify new contributors that want to defend the Open Web and that we should invite to the MozCamp to teach them about how they can help and train them to be part of the community.

We want to increase the number of contributors at Mozilla Hispano in that way, we can have new contributors in countries where we don't have people representing Mozilla yet and increase the work made by the community.

The last month, we have a community snippet for around three days and which gave to us:
- More than 15 people contacting us to contribute in the community.
- More than 9 thousand visits per day.

This campaign will take 1 month and these are the main goals:
- 15 new active contributors.
- 1 new community on a country that don't have a community yet.
- +250 thousand visits in total on the site.

Hi Santiago - Thanks for submitting - can you provide a english translation of your recommended text: Mozilla está formado por personas, descubre cómo <a href="https://www.mozilla-hispano.org/documentacion/Colabora?utm_source=snippet&utm_medium=snippet&utm_campaign=1">involucrarte con la comunidad</a> ?

Thanks!
The translation would be:

"Mozilla is about people, find out how to <a href="https://www.mozilla-hispano.org/documentacion/Colabora?utm_source=snippet&utm_medium=snippet&utm_campaign=1">get involved with the community</a>"

Hi Jane - Can you have a look at this to review, and let us know if this can be run as a GA snippets in those 4 locales? Thanks!
hey Guys -- I have a few recommendations and questions. Forgive me as I know you are trying to get this going asap.

(i) On your landing page at:
https://www.mozilla-hispano.org/documentacion/Colabora?utm_source=firefox&utm_medium=abouthome&utm_campaign=communitysnippet

... you only seem to have one place for people to get involved. I would like to see you add user engagement channels to this page please to give everyone who lands on this page the opportunity to engage.

What I'm concerned about is that we are going to send 250,000 clicks to this page and only hope to get 15 conversions into community members.

I humbly believe that we have a missed opportunity to have those people who land on the page and realize volunteering is not for them -- but they may want to stay in touch with Firefox in their locale (signing up for Firefox and You or liking us on facebook).

Please can we add this to your page before a snippet goes live.

(ii) A snippet lifetime is around 2 weeks. I would suggest posting the snippet for 2 weeks and seeing the reaction and then trying again later depending on results.

-- Laura can we make sure we have tracking in place?

Team - I think this is a super idea, but to have this be run of site - I 100% want to see us give every type of user a means to stay involved with us.
Lastly, the landing page doesnt have a lot of information about who we are and what we do. I'd like to see you have more copy on that landing page. Imagine you are a Firefox user who clicked on the snippet, but knows hardly anything about Mozilla and what you are trying to achieve with Mozilla Hispano. You need to provide a bit more information to get them to click on. thanks and happy to help where I can.
So, to sum up:

1. Give a brief overview about who we are and what we do.

Idea, add this to the top of the page:

"The Mozilla project is a global community of people who believe that openness, innovation, and opportunity are key to the continued health of the Internet. We have worked together since 1998 to ensure that the Internet is developed in a way that benefits everyone. <a href="http://www.mozilla.org/about/manifesto.es.html">Learn more</a>.

2. Add more opportunities to contribute and also to engage users. Now we have a section on the landing page called "If you don't have too much time" with link to affiliates and army of awesome. Adding links to social networks and firefox newsletter for users.
Hi all!

I'd like to suggest another translation for the snippet: En Mozilla lo importante son las personas. Descubre cómo puedes <a href="https://www.mozilla-hispano.org/documentacion/Colabora?utm_source=snippet&utm_medium=snippet&utm_campaign=1">participar en la comunidad</a>.

Additionally, the goal of our landing page https://www.mozilla-hispano.org/documentacion/Colabora is to coordinate and guide new contributors through our mentorship program. Clicking the "¡Quiero colaborar!" button will direct you to this web page https://www.mozilla-hispano.org/documentacion/Programa_de_mentores , which gives more details about how to get involved in Mozilla Hispano.

Still, the landing page also lists quick ways to contribute: Affiliates and Army of Awesome. But we do not consider them as "getting involved with the community".

Best regards,
Hey Guys - FYI, I'm transferring this bug over to Winston to take - he will be heading up the Snippets program from here on out. Please work with him when the site changes, and final translations, are ready to go!

2 years since the proposed end date of the campaign, smells outdated to me.
