Hi,

Croatian (hr) translation of TB is finished, so I'd like to request including of the translation in TB 10 beta and signoff dashboard if it's not too late.

What's the next step?

Cheers!
Bump. Some feedback would be nice.
Sorry for the delay, I've been catching up from Christmas.

I've been looking at what's in your repositories, and it seems not quite complete. Before we can add you to the builds I need to review a first version.

Can you attach all the files in a zip that are equivalent to TB 10 beta or TB 11 Earlybird (aurora)? If you don't want to do a zip, updating the appropriate repository is fine.

Normally I'd expect locales to do at least one cycle on aurora and one on beta before being considered for full release so that there is time for feedback from the community. Hence I wouldn't expect to be releasing you until TB 11 or 12.
Hi Mark,

oh, now I see that croatian (hr) TB aurora repo wasn't updated with new strings since initial setup couple of months ago.

I'm going to need some help importing new stuff that was introduced with the last two (I think) aurora cycles.

You see, we were doing the translation only in aurora repo and we finished the translation last week.

Cheers!
Ok, just ping me when you've got the new items landed.
Done.
accountProvisioner.dtd and main.properties in feedback directory are still untranslated. Deleted one file.

All comparision was done with en_GB
So please add it in first TB version you can. I forced this translation for 2 months so it would make it for TB 10 ESR so I can deploy it in my company and now I can't do that.

Ok, I've started looking at this. You generally need to compare with en-US as for example en-GB isn't always up to date.

There are tools to help with this, see this page for more info:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Compare-locales

You can also use the mozilla.dev.l10n newsgroup for questions.

At the moment I'm taking an initial look through your translation. As you're about 80% strings translated, I'll be happy to put you on the aurora branch if I don't see any problems during my initial look.

There is one issue I've spotted, which is that you need to put a hash at the start of "define MOZ_LANGPACK_CONTRIBUTORS" in mail/defines.inc, i.e. it needs to read:

#define MOZ_LANGPACK_CONTRIBUTORS ...

If you can complete that whilst I hopefully finish the look through tomorrow, then we should be able to get you on the tree.

I'm sorry about that, but I think we need time to ensure the translation is complete and accurate before we ship it to all users, which means needing a few cycles for QA. My initial look through indicates we've still got a bit more work to do before we get there.

However, what you should be able to do anyway is to create a language pack that is compatible with TB 10 ESR, and then deploy TB 10 ESR with that langugage pack installed. You users can then use both together.

There's information on creating a language pack here:

https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Creating_a_Language_Pack

If you need more help feel free to ask me direct or ask in the mozilla.dev.l10n newsgroup.
As far as I know, we translated everything that needed translating.

Only untranslated files that I'm aware are:
mail/feedback/main.properties - new file
mail/chrome/messenger/newmailaccount/accountProvisioner.dtd - new file
mail/chrome/mozldap/ldap.properties - Sasa left this untraslated because of LDAP errors to be easier to handle

Where can I find en_US l10n files since I couldn't find it here:
http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n/mozilla-aurora/

I'm using windows, don't know anything about Pyton. Using 2 comparison tools on windows, DiffMerge and WinMerge which did comparing process faster, but not automatic.

Anyway, if I manage to find en_US files anywhere I'll compare again.
Hi Mark and Mihovil,

TB files are now up-to-date with latest aurora. I've just translated missings strings. There are still some untranslated strings in Croatian (hr) FX aurora repo, but I'll finish those later today ;-)

Cheers!
Whoops, I've just realized we have a bunch of untranslated files. OK, our translation is now at 82%, but I believe that after we finish those files we'll be up by few percentes more.

Mark, I'll get back to you when we're done :-)
Thanks guys.

Mihovil the en-US files can be found here: http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n/comm-aurora/

The main files I saw untranslated where in /editor/ui (which Thunderbird uses but Firefox doesn't).

I also noticed that other-licenses/branding/thunderbird/brand.dtd didn't have trademarkInfo.part1 translated. Most other locales translate that but keep the brand and vendor parameters untranslated.

I've run out of time today, but I'll take a look at what you've landed tomorrow and see if we're in a position to get hr landed.

Yeah, those are the files I was talking about.

I've just translated this. Thx.
Make that http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/comm-aurora/, no l10n in the en-US repos.
All translated except editor/ui/chrome/composer/editorOverlay.dtd
I'm planning to leave it untranslated. Only if there are a lot of important strings there I'll try to find those.

Everything else is translated except mail/chrome/mozldap/ldap.properties which we also left untranslated intentionally.

You can do your magic and I'll try to install pyton on windows now so I can compare locales. Tryed 2 days ago but stuck on how to install compare_locales to pyton! :)

Best regards,
Mihovil
Thanks for the updates, I've taken a look and it all looks good enough to add to aurora/Earlybird. Therefore I've gone ahead and made the change:

http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/comm-aurora/rev/67f886f2f49a

hr will soon appear on the l10n dashboard for aurora. You can access the status via your team page:

https://l10n-stage-sj.mozilla.org/teams/hr
https://l10n-stage-sj.mozilla.org/shipping/dashboard?locale=hr

For now, you'll be looking at "tb_aurora".

The next merge is on 31st January. If you complete the localisation and sign-off before the merge, then you'll be included in the first beta for the new version.

After 31st January, a new release will be merged onto aurora, and they will be more strings to translate. If you complete the updates and sign-off before the next merge date (6 weeks later), then you won't need to do any work on beta, unless you find issues during the beta phase. This repeats every 6 weeks.

Builds of your locale will be available from here, starting tomorrow:

http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-earlybird-l10n/

Please make sure you're on the newsgroups to get announcements and other information:

Essential messages will show up on the l10n announce newsgroup, http://www.mozilla.org/about/forums/#dev-l10n-announce, available as mailing list, newsgroup or google group. You really want to subscribe to that.
You should also follow the Mozilla l10n newsgroup, http://www.mozilla.org/about/forums/#dev-l10n. The traffic isn't too high frequency, and this covers topics of general interest to Mozilla localizers. There's a third group, http://www.mozilla.org/community/forums/#dev-l10n-web, where we discuss web localization issues. That's a separate group as quite a few localization teams have dedicated volunteers for that.

If you have any questions, please ask on irc or send me email direct.
