None of the stuff at http://mxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/gfx/graphite2/include/graphite2/Types.h#43 is needed because we put Graphite in the same shared library as its consumers.
True, and it leads to a slew of build-time warnings, as reported in bug 712120. I've asked the upstream Graphite team to consider adding a compile-time option that we can #define from our makefile to resolve this, and am waiting on their decision.
