User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0 Build ID: 20120102233407 Steps to reproduce: I am using gentoo linux with Thunderbird 8-r1 (x86). My email account which shows a bug is configured to only receive email headers - not to load the emails from the server. I received a spam email. The spam email (-header) was shown up in the in-box. In column "From" shows a name known to me (e.g.: "Sys Op"). I looked via Thunderbird into the emails (-header) source (Strg+U). The name "Sys Op" is not contained. Afterwards I looked via Web-Email on the server into the emails (-header) source. The name "Sys Op" is also not contained. So the problem is in Thunderbird showing not the correct email sender (display name)... Actual results: I opened the address book and searched for the shown name "Sys Op". It's the first entry of one of 13 address books. In the "Sys Op" contact properties the option "Immer Anzeigename statt der Angabe im Nachrichtenkopf verwenden" (always show display name instead of name in email header) is checked. After unchecking mentioned option the spam email has no sender in the in-box list! Rechecking the option brings back the entry from address book. When I open the spam email the 'correct' senders name is shown. The error in the email list occurs even after closing and reopening Thunderbird; so the bug is reproducable for this special email. Expected results: Never (!) use a display name from address book if the sender email address is not equal to any email address contained in the address books.
