Details
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #716098 +++ Thunderbird Keyboard Shortcuts documentation (1) currently has this: Quit: Ctrl+Q This doesn't work for Windows (I think it was deliberately removed, too dangerous for accidents). Does it work on other OS? Maybe somebody can explain the expected and current behaviour for all OS, so that we can fix the documentation, or create bugs as necessary. (In reply to jenzed from comment #1) > It works on OS X. Jenzed, thank you. Is it one of the system-wide MAC Shortcuts? Does Ctrl+Q work on Unix, too? For Windows, it was removed by Bug 329687.

sreepriya, pls test for unix, and show nothing for windows, so you need blocklevel {for} on separate lines: {for mac,...} the whole table row goes here with more {fors} for mac and unix if applicable {/for}

Sreepriya, can you pls test this for Linux and note the results here (for the record)? STR - Open some additional TB windows: Compose, Saved Files (Ctrl+J), etc. - Go back to TB main window(!), focus on msg list - Ctrl+Q Which windows, if any, are closed after Ctrl+Q? For the time being, I kept Ctrl+Q for Linux, in the new revision (1) (In reply to Thomas D. from comment #3) > sreepriya, pls test for unix, and show nothing for windows, so you need > blocklevel {for} on separate lines: > > {for mac,...} > the whole table row goes here > with more {fors} for mac and unix if applicable > {/for} Unfortunately, blocklevel {for} doesn't work for table rows. Per Magnus' Bug 329687 Comment 10, and Bug 647964 Comment 7: Current behaviour on Linux Ctrl+Q -> Quit Thunderbird (Exit application & close all TB windows) Magnus, does Ctrl+Q on Linux, if triggered *from a satellite window* like Compose window or Saved Files, close everything, too?

Ctrl+Q is only available in the 3pane window. In the other windows it does nothing (or at least doesn't close).
